With the hope of this becoming an annual event, for this first show we booked a line up to celebrate a range of the blues in Scotland. “East West”, taken from the Butterfield Blues Band album, seemed a good name as we brought bands from Edinburgh to Glasgow, joining with the city’s finest telecaster bluesman, Al Brown with the pure and brilliant Bluelighters.
Your hosts were Liz Jones & Broken Windows, more a roots rock outfit, but with many fingers and friendships in the blues scene, we invited to this gig three beautifully contrasting groups that we believe, musically, represent some of the best blues in the UK. By the reaction of the audience, I think we, as they say on the blues, gone done good!
